July ReportHello ,

It’s been a long time since my last post but I was a little busy that I couldn’t manage to organize my time of developing and blogging , but in fact I am back with a very good news (at least for me) :) , My first Revenue report to share with you.

Since I have started developing ( almost 4 months ago ) ,I haven’t seen any noticeable revenue , actually my only source of revenue was Admob and I had an average of 1 dollar per month :S

But this month I am proud to say that I have passed my first goal mark which i set to be
10 dollars and I had a revenue of 17.5 dollars ..wow I didn’t see that coming but I hit this small jackpot  because of two reasons : READ MORE »

Let’s start writing some code – first android application

Color Switch-Lesson1 :

This lesson will cover the below :

1. Start new android project (using eclipse)
2. Preparing the Layout (Graphical Interface) 

This is your first android application , of course you are expecting it to be “Hello World” app , but i dont think it will be very useful in our case.
So our first android App will not be Hello program , instead it will be a Color Switch Application, dont panic , this is pretty easy and will give you a great start at developing for android.

Program idea is to have  four buttons (Red,Blue,Green,Yellow) when touched  the whole background changes to this color and displays a text that shows “The current color is xxxx”

First we need to define two main objects that are very important at developing for android:

1-Intent:  as on android page , You can use an Intent for a wide variety of tasks, but most often they’re used to start another activity.
2-Layout : is representing the way that you will build your graphical interface ( Buttons , fields, images , … etc )

How to choose your android application name : It is not just a name !

Why my app doesn’t appear at the search result ? , Why i am having very few number of downloads on Google play ? 

One of the reasons for this is your application name ,naming your application should not be so hard as ofcourse it should reflect what your application really do , but it also should not be just any name !

The reason of this is that there is hundred thousands of application out there on the market for all the categories and unless your app is trending on the market top apps or favorite apps then the only way the user will get to your app is via search.

First Step : How to start ?

Hello AndroidHello Starters ,

I ,as many of you , dreamed a lot of starting my developing career but i didnt find a guide to show me how to start developing but finally i am able to publish my first application (followed by 3 others  till now ) and i can see that am on the right path finally .

First of all you need to have an IDE to write and test your code on it instead on using the normal textpad/notepad stuff because believe me it save hell of a time for you .
